Interface Children & Family Services: Interface Youth Crisis Outreach Program

Provides 24-hour hotline for crisis intervention counseling for youth (10-17) and their families regarding: runaway issues, youth beyond parental control, child abuse, school problems, drug concerns and dysfunctional family relations. Trained Youth Specialist meet with family or with youth at school, police station or other neutral locations, and can recommend short-term emergency shelter in Cool Homes. Also provides 24-hour emergency response to law enforcement.

In the eighties i was directed through the youth crisis line to interface. An advocate came, picked me up, and provided safe places for me to sleep at night with several different functional families and shuttled me back to a day center in the morning. This has had a lifetime positive impact on me and demonstrated that people cared about me and others.
