The Ventura County Medical Center Psychiatric Unit at Hillmont Psychiatric Center (HPC) is a 24 hour, acute psychiatric hospital for patients who are a danger to self or others, or gravely disabled because of a mental disorder. The program provides evaluation, protection, stabilization and treatment for the acute phase of serious mental illness. Collaboration with outpatient service providers for continuity of psychiatric care is also arranged. LPS designated hospital.
